Reno, Nevada – May 9, 2008. The Washoe County Senior Law Project
presents Senior Citizen Law School – a three-day program addressing
“How to Survive Retirement: Solutions You Need to Know.” The event,
in conjunction with Older Americans Month, will run from May 13 through
May 15, 2008, at the Reno Senior Center, 1155 East Ninth Street.

Have you asked yourself if you need a trust, or wondered how to plan
for the cost of long-term care if you need it? Are you interested in
tools that will keep you independent for as long as possible? Do you
live with someone experiencing memory loss? Come and hear what the
experts – lawyers, mental health and care giving professionals – have
to say as they address these important topics.

Local elder law attorney, Henry W. Cavallera, will moderate the event
with presentations by local attorneys, the Washoe County Public
Guardian, psychologist Ted. W. Young, local care giving exerts, along
with representatives of the Alzheimer’s Association, the Sanford Center
for Aging, and Washoe County Senior Services.

The Senior Citizen Law School will be presented in two sessions each
day – an afternoon session from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and a repeat
evening session from 5:20 p.m. to 8:20 p.m., in 45-minute segments.
This highly informative program will cover a diverse range of topics
including wills and trusts, advance directives and durable Powers of
Attorney, long-term planning, memory loss, care management, reverse
mortgages, guardianships, and elder abuse.
