  PRESS RELEASE: FORUM ON COMMUNITY SAFETY

  WHAT: Forum on Community Safety with representatives from UNR, Reno Police, and the community. The focus will be on what is being done at the university and in the community, and on what Reno area residents can do to help keep themselves and their families safe. This event is open to the public.  There will be time for questions and concerns from the audience.
   Panelists include: 
            Carol MIllie, UNR, coordinator, Office of Student Conduct
             Representatives from UNR campus police and Reno Police
             Student Representatives from ASUN
              Kim Elise, community member
             Jessica Muehlberg, NAB  Ward 5 Representative
   
  WHEN: Tuesday, February 26, 2009; taping is from 7:30 to 8:30pm
   
  WHERE: Sierra Nevada Community Access Television Studio, 4024 Kietze Lane
   
     In light of the recent Dension murder and the several assaults near UNR, and the recent college shootings in Virginia and Illinois, this forum is meant to educate the community about what is being done to keep Reno area residents and the UNR community safe. An important part of this discussion will concern what people themselves can do.
     The community is invited to attend and participate.
