   Two shows to be taped at the Sierra Nevada Community Access Television studio:
    1. 7-8pm: Community activist and artist Joe Galata has been working to get news laws passed to address the Sallie Mae student loan scandal that is costing students tens of thousands of dollars. New legislation passed by Congress just a few days ago will provide more money directly to students for loans, but does not rectify legislation passed in 1998 and 2005 that allows big lending agencies from collecting huge interest amounts from students. Joe Galata will speak about his work to change our laws and a student financial aid adviser from TMCC will tell students how to avoid the pitfalls of lenders like Sallie Mae who charge high interest rates.
   
  2. 8:30-9:30pm Bob Tregilus will talk about his work in promoting alternative transportation as a way to address concerns over fossil fuel use and global warming. He drives an electric motorcycle and heads the Reno area effort to encourage people to "go electric". Lee Dazey, who has just obtained an electric scooter will also talk about her decision to use more sustainable transportation.
