  Peace Action 2008 is a proposed campaign to plan and organize peace events for 2008 with a focus on ending the war in Iraq.  The form of the campaign will depend upon the general sense of the groups involved, and the extent of collective actions. 
 
 We will be creating a calendar of actions for 2008.  some events planned and organized by one or more groups and individuals and a few collective action events.
 
 This spring it will have been 5 years of occupation in Iraq with no end in sight.  Especially with the upcoming presidential campaigns what is our best foot forward?  How can we reach Congress to stop funding the madness?  
 
 Join th peace community in networking and evaluating ongoing activities and previous activities, brainstorm on 2008 activities, and creating a campaign to end the war and pull the reigns on US imperialism.
 
 Feel free to bring any refreshments, and there will be some refreshments provided.
 
 Tentative agenda:
 
 (1) Introductions – current activities
 
 (2) Political Pulse - discussion
 
     - What is the current status regarding the war?
     - What is the sense of congress?
     - What is the sense of the public on the war and funding?
     - Where are the candidates on this issue?
 
 (3) Action Brainstorm
 
     - significant peace dates in 2008, calendar
     - kinds of actions
     - evaluation of success for action, what is the maximal success
 
 (4) Lay out Campaign Timeline
 
     - dates and actions
     - groups and individuals involved
     - steering committee(?)
 
 (5) Next meeting
 
 (6) closing
