Hi everyone -

One road to peace is reducing America's dependence on
foreign oil. There are many alternative transportation
options available to Americans, however, most either
have no idea of what those options are or are seeking
more information on advanced mobility technologies.

For that reason a Sustainable Transportation and
Advanced Mobility organization is forming in the
northern Nevada area.

Our next meeting is this Thursday, May 10, 2007, at
the Northwest Reno Library (2325 Robb Dr.), at 6:00
P.M. Map here: http://tinyurl.com/2sxxb3

Agenda -

At this meeting we will select a name for the group,
elect officers, and decide if we should become a
chapter of the Electric Auto Association (EAA). For
more information regarding the benefits of becoming a
chapter of the EAA please visit:
http://eaaev.org/eaaboard.html (see the column on
right side of page for EAA bylaws, code of ethics,
chapter handbook, &c).

EAA -

If we choose to become a chapter of the EAA we will
need a minimum of five dues paying members and at
least four chapter officers: president (or chair),
vice president (or vice chair), secretary, and
treasurer. EAA dues are $39 annually. You will receive
the national newsletter "Current EVents" and a portion
of the dues will help support local club activities.

Group name -

Please think of some names for the group and bring
your suggestions to the meeting!

I think the group name should be regional rather than
local and should be general rather than specific.

For example: "Sparks Electric Auto Club" is both local
and specific in that the name is not inclusive of
Reno, Carson City, &c., nor is it inclusive of
motorcycles, bicycles, bio-fuels, &c.

The ideal situation is a name where it works out to be
a meaningful - as well as memorable - acronym that is
also an available URL (web address).

That's likely not going to happen, but it's worth
shooting for.

That said, the group name could be something like
Black Rock Advanced Mobility Cooperative (BRAMC) which
would have a web address of bramc.org. Of course, in
the above example, the acronym is not very meaningful
nor easy to remember, but if we really like the name
there is no reason we can't say we are the Black Rock
Advanced Mobility Cooperative and our web address is
amnevada.org or evnevada.org or some other web address
that is easy to remember.
