as many of you may know: the Reno anti-war movement has done its utmost 
to get official responses from and face-to-face meetings with its 
elected legislators on the Iraq war. Reid's staff has already met with 
some of you and soon the Ensign office will follow suit. However, Dean 
Heller seems to be AWOL on the issue.

So naturally, we'll hold a press conference and couple it with a rally 
to get a response.

Once again we'll team with the estimable Molly Ivins Pots 'n' Pans 
Brigade <http://www.nevadalabor.com/barbwire/barb07/barb2-4-07.html> and 
raise a helluva ruckus for Heller until 11:30am. Following that, we will 
hold a press conference to

    * voice our dismay at Congressman Heller's elusiveness
    * thank Senator Reid and Ensign for meeting with his constituency
      (or, at least, having their staff meet with their constituency)
    * re-iterate our invitation to Take a Stand Day and to have a
      sit-down, face-to-face meeting with his constituency

The whole affair will take a mere forty minutes from your day, tops, and 
will guaranteed flex your democratic muscles (they atrophy if you don't 
use 'em). Emily and I will be on the phone soon with you to extend the 
invitation personally. We love to see as many bright, shining and sane 
faces as possible at these events.

see just how aloof your rep is. Gold star and a latte to the person who 
can find a public schedule of his first!
