  On March 17, 2007, people all over the United States and around the world will mark the fourth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq with massive outpourings of dissent in the streets. 
   
  March 17 will also be the exact day that the war in Iraq becomes the second longest in US history. The war is an unmitigated disaster for both the poelpe of the US and for Iraqi society. Over 650,000 Iraqis have been killed and Iraqi society has been completely devestated by the ongoing US occupation. Over 3,100 US troops have been killed and there have been over 55,000 "non-mortal" casualities. Billions of dollars are spent every week to continue this disastorous occupation as vital social services are cut at home.
   
  The only force capable of putting an end to this disaster is the people mobilized in a mass anti-war movement. In Reno, NV, March 17 will be marked with a rally at Pickett Park (Mill & Kirman) at 1pm, followed by a people's parade and march to the Bruce Thompson Federal Building, in solidarity with the march on the Pentagon in Washington, DC and other national actions.
   
  Efforts are being made by the ANSWER Coalition in Reno, along with our allies, to make this march a huge outpouring of dissent. Posters will be going up all over the Reno/Sparks metro area. Steert outreach will be happening on a regular basis and a major effort will be made to get the word out to youth and students in the area.
   
  But to make this demonstration a success, we need your help and support. We are attempting to take out ads in the Reno News & Review and in Spanish language media in order to reach the largest possible audience. We have an excellent opportunity to reach tens of thousands of people with the call to join the demonstration on March 17, but we have to act now. 
   
  We need to raise $1,500 by Monday, Feb 26th to make this happen, as well as cover other expenses related to the demonstration which include printing hundreds of posters and leaflets, as well as placards and banners.
