In RENO, Local Residents Tell Rep. Heller: Oppose Bushs March to War
with Iran
Recent intelligence shows Iran has no nuclear program-yet Bush has
invoked World War III.
Reno, NV-On Thursday, December 13 at 12NOON, local residents will
deliver a petition with local signatures to the office of Rep. Dean
Heller, urging him to support legislation opposing President Bushs
march to war with Iran.
Hundreds of similar events, organized by members of MoveOn.org
Political Action, a progressive advocacy organization, will take place
around the country this Thursday. Over 160,000 people nationwide signed
MoveOns petition.
Local residents are asking Heller to support House Joint Resolution 64,
sponsored by Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii). The resolution makes it
clear that the 2002 authorization of force against Iraq doesnt give
President Bush the authority to attack Iran.
Bush already led us into one disastrous war in Iraq; Americans dont
need another in Iran,
President Bush has lost the trust of the American people and the
world. With our military stretched too thin in Iraq and military
experts advocating diplomacy, Congress needs to make crystal clear that
the president doesnt have congressional approval to start another war
in Iran.
Recent intelligence shows that Iran has no nuclear program-yet Bush has
invoked World War III while talking about Iran. A USA Today/Gallup
Poll shows that 73% of Americans oppose attacking Iran.
