Subject: [washoeantiwar] Food Drive Friday at Poetry, Peace and Music
Hi All:
Friday, December 7 is a regularly-scheduled evening of Poetry, Peace and Music at Dreamers Coffeeshop, 17 S. Virginia Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
But this Friday is special, because it will be a night designated to contribute to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. There is never a cover charge at Poetry, Peace and Music, but everyone is encouraged to bring a few cans of food, or a cash donation to help feed the hungry in our own community. The collections will be gathered Friday evening and delivered to the food bank in time for the holidays.
Poetry Peace and Music happens on the first and third Friday of each month, and features performances by local musicians Lee Dazey, Kim Elise and Chris Good. Its an open-mic, so it also features performances by you and your friends. Drama, song, dance, poetry, puppetry and almost everything else is welcome at Dreamers Coffeeshop. The only request is that the performances be family friendly.
Its a warm, welcoming atmosphere for new performers, and an evening of great entertainment for spectators. Come on downtown and enjoy the show!
