  What: Sister Dianna Ortiz, Director of the Turture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition International (TASC) will speak about her experienced of being tortured and raped while serving in Guatemala as a missionary in the late 1980s. One of the men overseeing the torture appeared to be American. Sr. Dianna Ortiz's search for truth and justice eventually compelled the US to declassify files kept secret for a very long time - files which told a very dark story about US foreign policy in Guatemala.
   
  When: Thursday, April 12, 7pm
   
  Where:  St. Albert's the Great Catholic Church, 1250 Wyoming Ave, Reno. 
   
  Other: Governments in over 150 countries currently practice torture. Approximately 500,000 survivors of torture live in the US. Sr. Dianna Ortiz, who gives talks around the world, speaks on behalf of all torture victims and survivors. 
    The public is invited to attend this free event. 
   
  Who: Co-sponsored by the Catholic Life, Peace, and Justice Commission; Pax Christi Nevada-Reno; Sierra Interfaith Action for Peace; Center for Holocaust, Genocide, and Peace Studies at UNR.
