Friends,
The ACLU of Nevada and the Nevada Coalition Against the Death Penalty
invite and encourage you to participate in the upcoming National Weekend
of Faith in Action on the Death Penalty (WFA).
We are pleased to present a truly inspiring speaker, Marietta
Jaeger-Lane, of Murder Victims Families for Human Rights, who will tell
the story of the abduction and murder of her young daughter and Marietta
’s subsequent journey from rage to healing and forgiveness. We will also
be showing the film, "The Exonerated", a docu-drama of the true stories
of six exonerated death row inmates, with discussions to follow. All
events are free and open to the public.
The WFA is sponsored nationally by Amnesty International and presents an
opportunity for faith communities and human rights activists to examine
their beliefs and learn more about the death penalty. Locally, the
Coalition has organized the following events, with six religious groups
opening their doors to host our featured speaker, show the film and/or
present a sermon on capital punishment.
