SONJA PROSTRAN’S **PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY:**

·        From 1998** to 2002 Judge Prostran** started her** **legal with 
the investigating departments of the Second Municipal Court and   
District Court in Belgrade

·        In 2002, she was Secretary General for the District Court in 
Belgrade.  While in this post she was a spokesperson for the War Crimes 
Chamber of the District Court in Belgrade. Since 2000, she has taken 
part in a large number of seminars and schools organized by the Belgrade 
Centre for Human Rights, which mainly dealt with mechanisms of human 
rights protection on regional and global level, as well as with issues 
of international humanitarian law. 

·        Judge Prostran participated in a regional seminar on human 
rights, held in Opatija, Croatia, organized by the Croatian Helsinki 
Committee. From December 2003 to March 2004 she facilitated seminars on 
“International Organizations and Human Rights Protection” to judges, 
judicial trainees and legal assistants throughout Serbia: in Novi Sad, 
Nis, Kraljevo and Belgrade. She also facilitated lectures on “Witness 
Protection in Legal Frameworks of Serbia and Montenegro” to the 
representatives of non-governmental organizations which covered war 
crimes trials in Serbia.

·        In 2005, she was appointed a judge in the Second Municipal 
Court in Belgrade in the Criminal Department.

 

Co-presenting with Ms. Prostran will be Milos Milic a Serbian journalist 
who reported from Kosovo during the breakout of clashes between the 
Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the Serbian security forces, 1998 – 1999.

 

Mr. Milic has been in print media and radio broadcasting as a 
journalist, correspondent and editor, May 1996 to August 2004 and 
reporter, journalist, and editor on Radio B92.  In 1997 Mr. Milic was 
also the BBC World Service correspondent reporting from Serbia.

 

In July 2001 Mr. Milic was the B92 correspondent from The Hague, 
Netherlands, reporting, covering and analyzing trials before UN courts 
(ICJ and ICTY). Radio B92 was founded in 1989 as a youth radio 
organization broadcasting to Belgrade audiences and has since grown into 
a company which includes a regional radio and a national television network.

 

Also contributing:  Jerrianne Hayslette, award winning media specialist. 
Ms. Hayslett has assisted with numerous high-profile cases (including OJ 
Simpson, Menendez bros) and made many presentations in state, national 
and international forums including the Balkans.
