On Thursday, October 5, Northern Nevadans will walk out of school, take off
work to join with fellow Americans in over 150 cities and towns across the
country, declaring their intention to bring the Bush regime to a halt.
Please join us friends, neighbors and concerned citizens in alliance with
The World Can't Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime.



This administration is readying to use nuclear weapons in our name, against
sovereign nations, against international law. Thursday's protests occur as
Bush threatens a new war on Iran. The Senate with bi-partisan support has
passed the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the "torture bill" that legally
enshrines the President's category of "enemy combatant," allows evidence
obtained by torture to be admitted to trial by military tribunals, gives the
President the right to interpret the Geneva Conventions and eliminates the
right of habeas corpus for those held by military commissions.



Rick Strandlof, Northern Nevada Coordinator of World Can't Wait said
Thursday, "We are at a defining moment for this country and our people.
There are millions who don't want to live in a theocratic new Rome – but we
don't have unlimited time to stop this regime. When all other avenues of
change are blocked, what do people do? Hit the streets."



Mass demonstrations were instrumental in causing the resignation of
President Richard Nixon; 2 million Americans surrounded the White House in
1969, successfully dissuading Nixon from putting the nuclear weapons option
on the table during the Vietnam "police action".



Our main objective is to end the mass murdering war against Iraq, a nation
in the throes of a civil war.



Bring signs or carry ours. We plan to join and help organize marches on
Washington to demand Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice resign from office.
Show up, fight the fear, speak out against the madness.
