[Peace-presence] Plans for August 9, Nagasaki Day

Hello Peacemakers,
Currently, Nagasaki Day events here in Reno is being organized by RAWC
and Citizen Alert. To avoid Hot August Blights, Aug 9 has been chosen
for the memorial. This is a Wednesday.
Time: 5:30 to ~6:15 PM
Location: Gordon Thompson Federal Building (Virginia and Liberty)
Program: 5:00 - 5:30 set-up - tables with Peace Cranes and drawing
Shadow Figures

5:30 opening with Father Chuck Durante in a circle around the Shadow
Figures that represent victims of the bombings.
~5:35 Readings of Hibakusha (testimony of the bombings)
~5:45 current political climate and rise of nuclear weapons
~5:50 vets speak
~5:55 how to take action
~6:00 closing with Indigenous voice
~6:05 to 6:20 people at event take action by sending a crane to
Congress and a letter to NV delegation.
While people are taking action there will be music and song.
Feel free to suggest changes to this, but please do not reply to the
listserv, but to my email address. There will be a meeting at
Dreamers coffee house on Wed., Aug 2 at noon to check-in on details and
make any adjustments.
