On October 26, twenty-five of us rode a charter bus to San Francisco for a sunny day of rallies, march and protest. Two had traveled all night from Denver to join us. The San Francisco Chronicle estimated the crowd at 42,000. There was very little media coverage of the event as the Bush / Ashcroft machine tightens its grip on communications, but National Public Radio (NPR) did a pretty good round-up and if you got to Page Four of the October 27 Reno Gazette-Journal you would see a brief article with no pictures. We who oppose this

least 600 peace activists showed up on this beautiful winter day in
Reno, Nevada.
