Reno AntiWar Coalition is exactly that -- a coalition of very different
people who are united in one voice in opposition to aggression and war.
Below you will find an eclectic collection of links which represent a
wide range of views. And like RAWC they represent many very different
organizations, however, they do share a common voice in opposition to
aggression, war, and non-interventionist foreign policy.
Therefore,
when consulting any of the links below -- caveat emptor -- the Reno

For those who live outside the USA, it may appear shocking as to how
much the average American is oblivious as to what the foreign press is

interests to report within particular slants or leave out details. An

Selective
Service Draft Registration Freeze
The most important reason why you should not register for the draft is
because you own your body. You own your life. With the draft, the
government says that they own your life and they will do whatever they
want with your body for as long as they want when they decide the time
is right. So don't register!
Central
Committee For Conscientious Objection
In 1968 we joined together to protest killing and war. We mobilized
successfully against the Vietnam War, but haven’t been able to free
our government from its militaristic ways. The Gulf War, the poverty
draft, Junior ROTC, hazing, racism, sexual harassment and abuse are all
dangers of an unchallenged military. It’s time again to act.

committed to supporting all those who question participation in war,
whether they are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, documented or
undocumented immigrants--or citizens in other countries.
The
Committee Opposed to Militarism and the Draft
COMD is an anti-militarism organization that also challenges the
institution of the military, its effect on society, its budget, its role
abroad and at home, and the racism, sexism and homophobia that are
inherent in the armed forces and Selective Service System. COMD

outreach. Individuals sharing our goals are invited to become COMD

of March, moved by the anger and frustration I felt at the unelected
government that currently runs the show here in the United States, I

from being exhausted, the report concludes, the inspections process
has just begun, and must be allowed a realistic timeframe – without
ruling out future use of force. With Saddam Hussein currently under

Massachusetts in 1980 by anti-nuclear activists. Food Not Bombs is an
all volunteer organization. Food Not Bombs has no formal leaders and
strives to include everyone in its decision making process. Each group
recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot
vegetarian meals that are served in city parks to anyone without
restriction. The groups also serve free vegetarian meals at protests and
other events.

Resisters League
Across the political spectrum left, right and center, everyone says they
want peace. Too often they also want a gun, an army, or a bomb to ensure
they get the "right kind of peace." War Resisters League is
unique because we believe, to quote the late A.J. Muste, "There is
no way to peace — peace is the way." We reject the use of
violence for national defense or for revolutionary change. Deeply
influenced by the teachings of the Indian leader, Mohandas Gandhi, as
well as Thoreau, Tolstoy, King, Deming, and others, War Resisters League
believes war is a crime against humanity. We use peaceful means to
create a society that is democratic, free of economic, racial, and
sexual oppression. The methods we use range from education to
demonstrations to lobbying to nonviolent direct action-at all times
trying to see those we oppose not as enemies, but as sisters and
brothers.

After
three decades of fueling the US war on drugs with over half a trillion

to get, cheaper, and more potent than they were 30 years ago. While our

We must change these policies.

Bush
This site is dedicated to exposing the lies and impeachable offenses of

Take
Back The Presidency.com
George W. Bush is not our president. The people of the United States did
not elect him. He occupies the White House only because of a widespread
and coordinated effort to stop people from voting and to stop legal
votes from being counted. Obstruction of voting occurred at every level
of government. Republican officials violated election laws in more than
a dozen states, costing the Democratic candidate as many as 200,000
votes in Florida alone. Yet – contrary to misleading media reports -
they still could not deliver the majority vote to Bush, either
nationally or in Florida. Faced with these failures, Bush knew that only
a biased judiciary could secure him the White House. He sued to stop the
vote count, appealing to the highest Federal court, where he relied on

Central
Committee for Conscientious Objectors
The Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors supports and promotes
individual and collective resistance to war and preparations for war.
While most of us are teaching our kids to avoid violence, the US
military is extolling the virtues of war. Junior ROTC programs are
sprouting like weeds around the country — they’re now in over 2800
high schools.
Fair Taxes
For All!
A growing coalition united in its opposition to massive, irresponsible
tax cuts.
Cities
for Peace
Cities for Peace is a rapidly growing effort to get City Councils and
other civic bodies to pass resolutions against a war on Iraq. Civic and
religious leaders, educators, peace activists, business leaders and
individuals from all sectors are coming together across the country to
say "no" to Bush's call for war. We the people of the U.S. are
wary of a military venture against a country that has not attacked us.
Rooting

Rooting Out Evil is sending a weapons inspection team to the United
States to inspect the chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons produced
and concealed by the Bush regime!

National
War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee
The National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee (NWTRCC) is a
coalition of groups from across the U.S., formed in 1982 to provide
information and support to people involved in or considering some form
of war tax resistance (WTR). Affiliate organizations and individual
supporters are joined together in a common struggle for a more just and
peaceful society. We oppose militarism and war and refuse to complicity
participate in the tax system which supports such violence. NWTRCC sees
poverty, racism, sexism, homophobia, economic exploitation,
environmental destruction and militarization of law enforcement as
integrally linked with the militarism which we abhor. Through the
redirection of our tax dollars NWTRCC members contribute directly to the
struggle for peace and justice for all. NWTRCC promotes war tax
resistance within the context of a broad range of nonviolent strategies
for social change, and is firmly embedded in the peace movement.

Peace
Flag Action
I believe that freedoms are lost if they are not exercised, and that our
freedoms are under severe attack by the Bush administration. I am
an American and was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Twice in my
childhood I lived in England. Having split my childhood between living
inside and outside the US, I grew to appreciate attributes unique to the
United States that I consider to be its great strengths. Among these are
our protection of civil liberties, our protection of individual rights
founded in our legal due process, the distribution of power across our
branches of government and non-governmental organizations.

VAIW:
Veterans Against The Iraq War
Dear Veteran:
With the prospect of a major war looming just over the horizon, and the
threats of more suffering from violence growing, the times are a
changing -- for the worse!
If you are convinced that a U.S. invasion of Iraq is wrong, then you are
confronted with a choice: You can ignore the growing crisis, dismiss it
as another political conflict beyond your influence, or you can try to
stop a war. You can band together with other veterans and give voice to
what all of us know is wrong: a war with Iraq.
Iraq Veterans Against the War
Iraq Veterans Against the War went public on July 28th, 2004, during the Veterans for Peace annual convention in Boston, MA. The groundwork was laid when Mike Hoffman met Tim Goodrich in March, 2004 at the Dover to D.C. march, a protest of the war in Iraq and a memorial to the fallen soldiers. After that, contacts were made with the other co-founders until the decision to officially launch was made.
American
Gulf War Veterans Association
The American Gulf War Veterans Association (AGWVA) was established with
one goal in mind: To obtain treatment for those service members and
their families who experience symptoms collectively known as the
"Gulf War Illness". However, there is more to this issue than
meets the eye. As this investigation into causation has now progressed
into the arena of possible exposure to chemical and/or biological
agents, radiation poisoning due to the use of depleted uranium and most
disturbingly, the use of our fighting men and women as "Guinea
Pigs" in medical experimentation, the AGWVA has now added a second
goal: To obtain justice and compensation for all those affected by these
illnesses. Our troops returned home after serving their country with an
illness that appears to be spreading into the general population,
treatment is being denied and to date there are no safeguards of our
blood supply. Those responsible have passed the burden of proof onto
those that are suffering and least able to fight the enormous
bureaucracy of governmental agencies that are more concerned with
avoiding admission.
Veterans
for Peace
Veterans for Peace, Inc. (VFP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and
humanitarian organization dedicated to the abolishment of war. VFP was
founded in 1985 by ex-service members committed to sharing the horrors
they experienced. We know the consequences of American foreign policy
because once, at a time in our lives, so many of us carried it out. We
find it sad that war seems so delightful, so often, to those that have
no knowledge of it. We will proudly, and patriotically, continue to
denounce war despite whatever misguided sense of euphoria supports it.
Wage Peace!
Veterans
for Common Sense
Veterans for Common Sense seeks to inject the element of Common
Sense into debates over war and national security. In an age when the
majority of public servants have never served in uniform, the
perspective of war veterans must play a key role in the public debate
over national security issues in order to preserve the liberty veterans
have fought and died preserving.
Call
to Conscience From Veterans
We are veterans of the United States armed forces. We stand with the
majority of humanity, including millions in our own country, in
opposition to the United States' all out war on Iraq. We span many wars
and eras, have many political views and we all agree that this war is
wrong. Many of us believed serving in the military was our duty, and our
job was to defend this country. Our experiences in the military caused
us to question much of what we were taught.
